| The new decade begins with only eight season in the books for the Lions, but it provides an opportunity to look back and compare the best of the best that have worn the Lion Uniform. Garry Selby, who has kept score for every Lion game and has kept all the records, along with Nate Selby, who has coached every game, made the selections. In addition to the statistics, listed below , intangibles were also considered: leadership, contributions to the seasons played, didication to the program and comparison to those they played against. Selections like this always leave off some names that could be included, but four infielders, four outfielders, four starting pitchers and a reliever allow for sixteen players. Chuck Howard makes the team as a utility player having caught, played in the outfield and also pitched. Chris Carter's stats are not as impressive as some others, but he has had by far the greatest success post high school. He is on Oakland's 40 man roster, he will attend big league spring training and will likely see some time in the big leagues his years. |
