| There are now 3 former Lions playing professional baseball as Mark Baca joined Chris Carter and Justin Garcia when he signed a contract with the Pittsburg Pirates Organization. He is playing in the New York Penn League with the State College Spikes. |

| Twelve Sierra Vista graduates will either begin their college education or continue towards a degree while playng baseball. There are 8 former Lions at Division I schools, 2 at Division II, and 6 at Community Colleges. For the first time Sierra Vista will be represented in two of the best baseball conferences: Lance Ray attends the University of Kentucky in the Southeast Conference and Matt Klein goes to Oklahoma State University in the Big 12 Conference. The Mountain West Conference will have Chad Claus, Justin Baca and Scott Berke at UNLV and Drew Leary at San Diego State University. Chuck Howard returns to New Mexico State University from the Western Athletic Conference. Division II schools will have Kyle Kutchewsky at New Mexico Highlands University and Rich Michelin at Cal Luthern University. Kiel Harman returns to CSN and Brooks Klein joins Andrew Garcia in Carson City to attend Western Nevada. David DeCarlo, Kyle Gamble, Tommy Barnes and Matt Holman will all begin their college education and play for McCook Community College in Nebraska. |

| KINGHAM'S GRAND SLAM GIVES LIONS 18-5 WIN OVER PAHRUMPH VALLEY |

| Nick Kingham hit his 5th home run of the season, a grand slam in the bottom of the 5th inning to end the game with Pahrumph Valley. Pahrumph (5-10, 0-5) had jumped on Dusty Stevens in the 1st inning for 4 runs on 3 hits aided by 2 hit by pitch. They added another in the 3rd inning on 2 singles and another hit by pitch to tie the game going into the bottom of the 3rd. The Lions (14-4. 4-0) went ahead in the bottom of the 3rd as Blair Goldsack singled to left through the 5.5 hole, stole 2nd base and scored on Marquis Tower's double down the left field foul line. Jake Hager relieved the struggling Stevens and shut out the Trojans the rest of the way, striking out 3 and walking 1. The Lions scored 4 times in the 4th inning as Pahrumph made 3 errors in the infield and walked 2. Connor Klein tripled to right center to drive in 2 of the 4 runs and Billy Santiwan singled to drive in another. In the 5th inning Kingham had 2 hits as he led off with a single to right and finished it off with his towering big ball home run to left field. Julian Cutolo had his 3rd hit of the day, a double in this inning, and Goldsack and Scotty Tomassetti had singles. |
| Today ended a 7 game home stand for the Lions where they went 6-1 but saw their 9 game winning streak end against Foothill on Wednesday March 31. Thursday the Lions travel to Spring Valley for another league game. Spring Valley won both games last year and has won the last 4 games between the two schools.
