  Austin has been playing baseball since he was 8 years old, beginning in the Picole Little League.  He played on the 10 year old all star team in that league that won the Regional Championship.  From 94-98 he played for the Yard Dogs in the AABC League, winning the state championship twice and the USABA World Series in Omaha in 1997.  He played two years for Durango, pitching and playng outfield for the JV team and the summer team.  He has played on the Sierra Vista Fall team and summer legion team for two years.  He was selected to play in the Kelly Showcase Series between the Southern and Northern Nevada junior in Reno in June on 2002.
   On the Sierra Vista Varsity team in 2002 Austin hit .351, scored 23 runs and drove in 20 runs.  On the mound he started 11 games, had 4 complete games and a 6 win 4 lose 2 save record.  While pitching 64 innings he allowed 41 runs struck out 31 and allowed only 13 base on balls.  The opposition hit .273 and his ERA was 3.609.  He threw 67% strikes and 63% first pitch strikes while allowing 1.4 baserunner per inning.
   Austin enjoyes snowboarding, camping and fishing.  His parents are Natalie and David Stout, and he has two sisters  Whitnie 16, Nakell 12 and one brother Kaylan age 14.  He was born on November 25 1984 in St. George, Utah.
