ON FIELD BATTING CAGE STORAGE AREA 2003
During the winter of 2003 the players and coaches moved the 3rd base bull pen inside the field and down into the left field corner to match the right field area.  This opened up the old bull pen area of the field just past the dugout to be used for storage.  The area was inlarged to allow the on field turtle batting cage to roll into the finished fenced area and the remainder of the bull pen area was fenced and concreted to allow storage of all the batting paractice equipment like pitching platform, protective screen for pitcher and all the plywood that is used around the plate to protect the grass during batting practice.  The chail link fence was donated by Chuck Stevens, the concrete by Rinker Materials and therest purchased with money raised by the annual Orange Sale in December.  The players, coaches and parents did the work of setting posts, putting up the fencing and running the concrete.  This is just another little addition that sets the Lions baseball facility apart from others in the area.
